no image

It’s easy to find innovative, new business email programs these days. There are lots to choose from, but they all have pros and cons. Though it’s nice to have so much diversity, it can be challenging to decide which email solution will work best for your company.
If you’ve been wavering back and forth, then it can be a good idea to read up a bit on each email platform. Try to bear in mind a few of the basics that most businesses will need from their email program. These include:

  • Do they offer spam filtering, encryption, and message tracking?
  • Will they support my custom domain name and address?
  • How much storage is available?
  • Is there a guaranteed uptime?

Of course, there are many other issues to take into consideration. For instance, what type of features do you need for office collaboration? Will you need an email program that integrates easily with the software your company uses? What about file sharing, calendar sharing, and cross-platform features?
As you can see, there are lots of considerations and so many great email programs on the market today.
Microsoft Outlook from Office 365
One of the most popular is the Outlook email program that’s included with Office 365. This one is integrated with all of your favorite office programs, so it’s going to be easier for your staff to use. All Microsoft Office programs now utilize the Ribbon and most people know how it works. There are lots of other helpful and familiar features included in Outlook. If you haven’t tried Office 365 for your company, this could be a good time to change.
Office 365 offers your employees better productivity. From Word to PowerPoint most businesses could not function today without these powerful programs. Check out some of the features that Outlook has to offer:

  • A customized business email address
  • Includes Exchange (email), One-Drive, SharePoint, Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams
  • Email storage (50 GB)
  • FIPS and HIPAA compliant
  • The security and interoperability of Microsoft
  • 99.9% uptime guarantee
  • 24/7 technical support, via phone, and email
  • Pricing starts at $5 per mailbox per month

Sending Encrypted Emails
These days everyone is worried about Internet security. Office 365 offers email encryption but they do charge extra for it. This feature is easy to use. Once you’re all signed up for this service, type the word “encrypt” in the subject line and this will tell Office 365 to send an encrypted email.
G Suite Business Email
The G Suite Business Email program is another popular choice. Google’s G Suite Business Email Provides:

  • A customized business email address
  • A Google domain so you own your custom email address
  • Google Drive storage (30 GB)
  • Video and Voice conferencing, Team Messaging, Shared Calendars

Just type a command into the search bar followed by keywords (ex: "from:mashable"). The search function quickly finds all emails related to those keywords. That’s a real time-saver.
GoDaddy Email
GoDaddy offers two different types of emails. One is the light version of Office 365 and the other is an actual GoDaddy email program. The GoDaddy Email offers Hosting, Web Security and lots more. You can also get 24×7 technical support. The GoDaddy website currently has 73 million domain names registered in the U.S. They claim to the have the world’s largest cloud platform dedicated to independent and small businesses.
They provide a professional URL for your e-mail account and the website has lots more tools that are available to customers from Email Marketing to Website Builder Plans.
The paid version of GoDaddy Email Service includes:

  • An HTML email creator providing templates and themes with photo modules and simple text.
  • Add your photos or choose from GoDaddy's stock images.
  • GoDaddy Email provides a 99.9% guaranteed uptime.
  • Storage plans range from 5 to 50 GB of storage/per user.

GoDaddy Email isn't as easy to customize as other email solutions so if this is important to your business; then they might not be the best choice.
We've just touched on the highlights here. There are so many similar features these and other providers offer. Do some research and compare your needs against each cloud-based email solution to make the best decision for you and your organization.
